Dream Big

Let me share a dream that I had 2 weeks ago.

In my dream I was standing in an empty lot surrounded by train tracks and a bridge that was sunken to the ground. I turned to the left and saw the shore and waves starting to form. I was confused to see water because I was in an empty lot. It didn’t make any sense. But I was also aware that the waves were about to get bigger and the water was about to come into the land. Sure enough, big waves were coming my way!!! So I started to run down a path that had debris on it. Through the debris, I was looking for something that I could float on in case I got swept by the water. So I saw plastic boogie boards but they were too small. Then I saw a boat and looked inside but it had water in it. So I figured it would be a matter of time before it sank. But at that moment, I heard a voice say, “Why are you looking for a boat, if I want to give you a house!?” So I kept running along the path just to come up to a house built with composite decking. It was high up and very well built. I knew it was going to withstand whatever it came my way. I started to climb it, because like said, it was high up. I finally reached the top and went inside.

“For my thoughts are not your thoughts, neither are your ways my ways, declares the Lord. As the heavens are higher than the earth, so my ways higher than your ways and my thoughts than your thoughts.” Isaiah 55: 8-9

I woke up and I immediately knew what that meant. Why am I settling? Why am I looking for what makes sense to me? Why I’m I looking for logical explanations? THINK BIG. DREAM BIG.

I realized that I was settling. Settling because I wanted to stay safe. Be safe. It’s easier sometimes to take the easy way because there’s no risks. No risk to fail. No risk to lose anything. No risks of getting hurt. I like being comfortable, knowing how things might turn out. Being in control. But God is telling me to think big because HE is big! And HE is more than able to give us more than what we can hope for or imagine. (Ephesians 3:20)

Let me ask you the same question, “Why are you looking for a boat, if you can have a house?” Why are you settling for less?! You are worth so much more just to settle for a “boat”.

“Trust in the Lord with all your heart and lean not on your own understanding, in all your ways submit to him and he will make your paths straight”

In my dream I was running down a path and trying to grab what I could to stay “a float” to “survive” what was coming, but God wouldn’t let me settle so I kept running! Let go of what was, an old way of thinking, behaviors, habits, etc. Let go of what doesn’t serve you. Let go of trying to be in control. It’s time we start living on purpose and stop surviving. Let go and trust GOD in everything because He wants to give you his best.

Do not settle in 2019!! I repeat: DO NOT SETTLE IN 2019!!

THINK BIG. DREAM BIG. TRUST GOD. DO NOT SETTLE. Keep running and keep pushing forward! I believe in you, God believes in you.
